Exhibition "1025th Anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus'"
ICC Kiev holds a special exhibition dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus' from July 26 till August 6. Guests will get a unique chance to find out about saints, icons, and the history of Kievan Rus’.
Kiev is the cradle of Christianity for the nations that originated from the territory of Kievan Rus’. This unprecedented event will tell about 10 centuries of Christianity in our country and other Slavic nations. The exhibition supported by Kiev Archdiocese of Ukrainian Orthodox Church will take place in the capital of Ukraine for the first time.
The history of Kievan Rus’ will be presented from the spiritual point of view featuring 150 unique icons of saints (X-XX cc), their life stories, churches and cathedrals that contain hallows of numerous saints and other interesting material. The guests of this unparalleled exhibition will be able to find out about the lives of saints from St. Andrew to Volodymyr and learn how they influenced the history of Kievan Rus’ till today’s time.
The one-of-a-kind occasion is aimed at enlightening people about religious values, moral and Christianity, providing information on saints and location of cathedrals dedicated to them. During the exhibition attendees will get a chance to communicate with people who can tell about the meaning of Christianization of Kievan Rus' and the history of the church. Most of the exponents that are going to be presented at the expo have never been shown before. A special album with photos of 150 icons is specially prepared for this event.
