Book Trade Exhibition dedicated to the Knowledge Day
Book trade exhibition will go on in ICC Kiev for four days. During this period of time guests will have a great chance to enjoy literature of different genres for all kinds of readers big and small and take part in numerous fun and educational events.
The organizer of the event is “Ukrainian House” with the support of the State Committee of TV and radio broadcasting of Ukraine. The aim of this wonderful event is to popularize Ukrainian books, support and preserve Ukrainian cultural traditions and let the readers know about various authors and publishing houses. There will be presentations of news books and also signing sessions for those interested in meeting their favourite authors.
Traditionally ICC Kiev holds various charitable events during such exhibitions. This time we have prepared a special ethical project called “Fairy tales bringing up children: classic books for kids”. The chief organizer of the project is Andrey Shypko. A special concert in support of this occasion will take place in Auditorium of ICC Kiev on the 29th August at 1pm. A magnificent audio-disk will be introduced to the public featuring fairy tales voiced by famous Ukrainian actors and TV presenters such as Honoured Artist of Ukraine Vladimir Talashko, Merited Artist of Ukraine Vitaliy Linetskiy, TV presenters Anna Gomonay, Ruslan Senichkin, and Natalya Tikhopiy, and film director Daniil Syrykh.
The project “Fairy tales bringing up children: classic books for kids” is done to support small patients of the department of toxicology and intensive therapy of National Specialized Children’s Hospital “OHMATDYT”. Wonderful kids from that department took active part in making illustrations for the fairy tales.
ICC Kiev will also continue a great charitable project “Buy a book and make a present for kids deprived of parental care” to help various orphanages. Every year “Ukrainian House” strives to bring high-quality educational books to the libraries of numerous orphanages giving a chance to all children to get the knowledge and fun they deserve.
The festival of ice-cream, Literal Café, master classes of national artisans, programs with animators, demonstrations of cartoons and audio books will also be part of Book Trade Exhibition making our event extra special and fun both for kids and adults!
